Jeffrey Carrico, MD

Dr. Jeff Carrico began his family practice at Morgan-Haugh in 1993.  He is a graduate of Carlisle County High School and the University of Kentucky.  Dr. Carrico earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in family practice at the Trover Clinic in Madisonville, KY.  Dr. Carrico is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice.

He is married to Lisa, also a native of Western Kentucky. She is the director of Employment Connections, a division of Easter Seals West Kentucky in Paducah that assists in obtaining meaningful employment for individuals with various disabilities. They have three children, Adam, Kelsey and Kylie. They live just outside of Mayfield and are active members of the St. Joseph Catholic Church community.

Upon completion of his formal training in Family Medicine in the summer of 1993, he returned to the Western Kentucky area joining the multispecialty Morgan-Haugh Medical Group and practiced with that group until its dissolution in 2009.  When it became apparent that Morgan-Haugh was not going to remain open, he considered his various options to continue the practice of medicine.

Having a solid commitment to the community in which he was raised in as well as to the patients that had supported his practice for the past fifteen years, he chose to remain in Mayfield and create a new medical practice.

After partnering with local businessman Todd Gossum, he asked several select office staff members to join him in opening this new practice. Having been in practice here for some time allowed him to choose a group of office support personnel that he knew to be competent, compassionate and hard-working.

With the help of his new partner and the office staff, on May 1, 2009, Western Kentucky Family Healthcare was born.

Since its opening, the new practice has gotten off to a strong start. It is his desire to provide Mayfield and the surrounding communities with committed, compassionate and competent primary care for many years to come.
